However, as far as side-scrollers based on licenses go, this could have been way worse. I will not say that the gameplay of Pink Panther: Pinkadelic Pursuit is going to blow you away.
The game actually has some pretty decent animated scenes that move things along and these are way better than anyone gives the game credit for. As a 2D side-scroller as you have probably guessed, the game is rather light on plot, but that is not really a bad thing, to be honest, and it does at least give you enough to go on. The Pink Panther is on the case to try and get some good treasure, but as always, he is being pursued by that pesky detective. There is a plot here, but I am not sure exactly what it is.
This is a series that has been going as long as I can remember and as a kid in the 80s, I remember always enjoying the Pink Panther animated series that seemed to always be on TV on Sunday mornings. Pink Panther or as it is better known, Pink Panther: Pinkadelic Pursuit is a side-scrolling platformer released for the Nintendo Game Boy Advance all the way back in 2002. The 2D game is amazing and suitable for kids. The tasks involve moving to various places and collecting coins. The visuals are colourful and eye-catching.Other games with similar characteristics for kids include The Happos Family, Boomerang Make and Race and My Knight and Me. The graphics and controls are improved which help you enjoy the game better. The game is an adventure game upgraded from previous versions like Hocus Pocus Pink released in 1999, Passport to Peril released in 1996, and Shapes and Colors released in 1994. Its developer is Estranges Libellules and it was published under the banner of Wanadoo Editions with close collaboration with Dreamcatcher interactive and D3 publisher. The game is shaped around a pink jaguar that is not a normal panther but tries to act as one. The likelihood that the average Game Boy owner will be old enough to remember it is doubtful, but the game is an amusing, fun little adventure nonetheless.Pink Panther also called Pinkadelic Pursuit is a game released in November 2002 coined around the series comedy cartoon that is developed for kids. The Pink Panther on GBA is essentially a simple gameplay mechanic, brought to life by the style and humour of the classic cartoon.
And also like the other two versions, several mini games can be found throughout the game, some of which are compulsory in order to progress to later levels.
Travelling from the Cosmos to the undersea world, via the discovery of the other side of the world, players must combat enemies using a variety of different gadgets.Īs with the PSX and PC versions, the game includes a gameplay element based on 'hide and seek', which gives the protagonist the ability to blend in with the various backgrounds (he can disguise himself as a lamp, for example, by placing a lampshade on his head). From then on, the only thing he wants to do is get back home.Ī total of three episodes make up the game, as players take control of the hapless feline across 2D, side-scrolling environments, in the quest to get home. In a most unfortunate turn of events, a wrongly programmed missile ends up projecting the poor chap in to outer space. Whatever next? A Jossy's Giants football game? (Now there's an idea!)įishing peacefully at sea, whilst under the heavy scrutiny of Inspector Clouseau, our friend the Pink Panther suddenly finds himself in a rather awkward predicament. Terminator, Rocky, and Knight Rider have all appeared in game format recently and now, possibly the most bizarre of the lot, we have a 2D, platform adventure starring none other than mischievous moggy the Pink Panther. Licenses based on cult 1980's icons are certainly becoming popular of late.
